Simply, some harmonies will be softer, others more original. Some will be common in a given society, others will be rarer.

Let’s not forget that we perceive up to 300,000 colors!

So I’m going to keep here the colors that work easily with green. The ones you absolutely have to try to really exploit the maximum potential of your wardrobe!

How to wear green with neutral colors but in a less common way?

However, when the green is quite deep to really dark, it doesn’t stand out too much against the black.

It stands out quite badly and seems a little uninteresting… You can see below that the dark green blazer doesn’t really have any added value over the black top. It’s a bit bland even though the jacket could have had more of an effect worn differently…

When you wear a beautiful color, you might as well allow it to take up all its space. It’s still a shame to erase it and make it blander than it is.

So, if you really want to wear black pants with them, put on a white t-shirt or in any case, a slightly lighter top so that the color of the jacket takes its place.

You can also wear a black top with green bottoms or the opposite.

We note the superb combination of mixing the black blazer with a gray top and green pants. It’s a great way to create even more relief, and therefore style, while remaining on a neutral base if that makes you more comfortable.

Then, green will always work with browns, beiges, and all colors close to the hues of nature.

They are part of the same family and marry in an obvious way. These are therefore fairly classic color associations. They are beautiful, always successful but do not create the unexpected. We marry them together without surprise.

And even more so when the green is very dark like here. But for lovers of soft and natural colors, it is ideal and very easy to achieve.

I particularly love it when green is worn with camel pants and woven straw or raffia accessories.

what color goes with green

How to wear green with neutral? I vote for white! It’s a little less common and the contrast is striking while remaining quite sober.

It’s fresh, bright and easy to combine. I find it really beautiful with a white turtleneck and white boots or ankle boots. The result is also great with little white sneakers for a more casual but a little more original look.

How to wear green with orange reds and oranges:

You will very often see green associated with red. This is explained by the fact that red is the complementary color of green. That is to say that it is located at the exact opposite of the color wheel.

In a way, they compensate for each other, providing each other with their respective benefits to create a perfect balance. Culturally in Europe, we are used to seeing this green/red combination, even if only at Christmas!

Also on plaid patterns, tiles are often depicted with red lines on a green background.

Consequently, it is ultimately a fairly banal association or in any case, rather familiar to our eye.

So I invite you to go a little further to experiment with  orange-reds, all the way to orange!

Oh, does it sting your eyes? At first, you may fear this type of look, thinking that it’s too flashy.

And above all, you don’t have to opt for a very saturated green and orange. These may be more muted colors, less vivid in pigment. It will depend on your personality and also your colorimetry.

There are people for whom very bright colors look wonderful and others who will be more flattered by so-called mattified (more softened) colors.

You also see in these examples that you can simply opt for a print that has touches of orange.

You can try wearing green with bright sky blue. But you see below that a gray blue sweater, therefore more muted (less saturated), will be just as beautiful!

It’s up to you to see what is most like you and what makes you look good.

If you like bright contrasting colors, then I advise you to try wearing green with more powerful blues like cobalt blue, royal blue, electric blue.

How to wear green and blue even easier? With denim blue of course!

Whether denim shorts in summer, jeans with a blazer or a green skirt with a denim shirt, anything is possible! If you have a touch of green print on your top, it can create a very stylish reminder with the main green item of the outfit.

For lovers of neutral colors, green will always be sublime with deep blues: ultramarine blue, navy blue, midnight blue.

It’s a clothing combination that we don’t see very often… However, it’s one of the most beautiful harmonies with green!

No matter the shades of purple, they all go very well with green. From pure purples to clarified purples (lilac, parma, mauve…), it’s a combo you absolutely must try!

You will also notice in these images how feminine and sophisticated it is with a powder pink. Without hesitation, you can even go as far as nude pink.
